Ng?ti Rangitihi and Ng?ti Awa
Darrin Sykes joined the board in 2013. He is currently CEO of the Crown Forestry Rental Trust, having previously been the Director of the Waitangi Tribunal (from 2004 to 2010), and CEO for the Anamata Private Training Establishment based in Whakatane and Taneatua (from 2002 to 2004). He is a government-appointed board member of the Capital and Coast District Health Board (since 2010) and was appointed a trustee of Sport Wellington in 2011.
Darrin has an extensive touch rugby background as a nationally ranked and international referee and administrator, including serving on the Touch NZ board of directors for 23 years retiring from the board in September 2014. Darrin has been the Touch NZ National Director of Referees since 2011 and is a current member of the Federation of International Touch Referees Commission serving since 1999.
In the 2013 Queen’s Birthday Honours he was appointed a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for his services to touch rugby administration.
