Social Content Coordinator - New Zealand Football

Job Description

Reporting to the Head of Communications, the Social Content Coordinator supports the day-to-day planning, coordination, publishing and optimisation of content across New Zealand Football’s social media channels. You will help keep content organised and on schedule, adapt content for different platforms, and work with colleagues and external content providers to share stories from our national teams, competitions and grassroots game.

This is a hands-on coordination role within the Commercial, Marketing and Communications team. It would suit someone early in their social media or communications career who is organised, comfortable working across several priorities and keen to build their experience in sport content.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate content across New Zealand Football’s social media channels and maintain content calendars for national teams, competitions, commercial campaigns and grassroots football.

  • Support the content workflow, including planning, approvals, scheduling, publishing and reporting.

  • Create and adapt social media assets, including copy, graphics and simple video content where required.

  • Work with internal teams, players, coaches, partners, suppliers and external creators to source and deliver content.

  • Support community engagement, coordinate sponsor and partner content, and monitor channel performance and relevant platform trends.

About You

You are organised, collaborative and interested in how strong social content can connect people with football. You can write clear and engaging copy, have an eye for detail and are comfortable coordinating input from different people. You enjoy working in a busy environment, can manage competing deadlines and are willing to pitch in with straightforward content creation when needed.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Around one to two years’ experience in social media, digital content or communications.

  • Experience coordinating content plans or editorial calendars and delivering content across different digital platforms.

  • Confidence writing clear social media copy and creating or adapting straightforward digital content.

  • Experience using social media scheduling and reporting tools, with working knowledge of Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or similar tools.

  • Strong organisation and stakeholder coordination skills; experience in sport or knowledge of football and futsal is advantageous but not essential.

Why Join Us?

You will join a team that is passionate about football and help deliver content seen by players, fans and communities across Aotearoa. The role offers broad exposure to national teams, competitions, community football and commercial activity, with opportunities to develop your social media and content coordination experience.

We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds. Research shows that individuals from underrepresented groups, including women, often hesitate to apply unless they meet every requirement. If you're excited about this role and believe you have what it takes, even if your experience doesn't align perfectly, we encourage you to apply.

Our recruitment process is fair and inclusive, and we're committed to making it accessible for everyone. We value diverse perspectives and the unique contributions each person brings to our culture. Put simply, you can be yourself here.

Applications close 5pm Wednesday, 18 November, however we will review applications as they are received and may close the advert early if an appointment is made. Applicants must have the legal right to work in New Zealand.
