The Medibank Community Fund was established in 2010 to inspire people to take action to safeguard their own health and wellbeing for a healthier future.
The Medibank Community Fund’s vision is: that people of all ages will live longer in good health by being encouraged to eat well, be physically active and more connected with their communities.
Funding is for individual programs and projects that encourage one or more of the following criteria:
• physical activity
• healthy eating
• community connectedness
Past recipients used funds to help feed, house, educate and encourage involvement and facilitate community connections among specific groups throughout Australia and New Zealand.

How to apply
The Foundation is not funding research via expressions of interest in the 2019/20 financial year. We wish you all the best in your research.
The application process
Stage 1: Expression of Interest
If you think your project is eligible for funding within a current funding program, you are welcome to submit an Expression of Interest Form. This must be submitted in the online format requested to be reviewed monthly. We aim to review all Expressions of Interest and respond to you within 6 weeks. If your application is not progressed we will clearly explain why, but we will not provide detailed feedback on specific applications.
Stage 2: Detailed Application
If your project is to be considered for funding we will invite you to make a more detailed application, for which we will require more information on your plans, the people who will be delivering the project and your organisation. Additional information will be reviewed quarterly (March, July, September, and December).
Decisions on which projects to fund are made by the Medibank Better Health Foundation Governance Committee.
Applications will be first be screened against the eligiblity criteria for the grants. Screen applications will then be assessed by region based Medibank management teams. Once submitted, all applications will become the property of Medibank.
