If you are enthusiastic about a future career in the hospitality and tourism industry, then start your journey with a Queenstown Resort College (QRC) National Scholarship! QRC awards two National Scholarships a year; one for the Hospitality Management Diploma and one for the Adventure Tourism Management Diploma.


What are we looking for?
Enthusiasm for the industry: the desire to pursue a career in hospitality or adventure tourism.
Commitment and professionalism: a motivation to succeed academically, be a QRC Ambassador and leader for our student body.
Personal excellence: a good academic record and demonstrated achievement in a range of extracurricular, sporting, community and leadership activities


Who is eligible?
Scholarships are open to Citizens or Permanent Residents of New Zealand. Scholarship recipients must begin Diploma study in 2020.

Number of awards



The QRC National Scholarships provide 50% of a student’s full two year Diploma tuition fee ($13,312).


The Scholarship will cover the full tuition fee within the initial 21 months of the programme and does not include the costs associated with re-sitting any failed papers.

Decision makers

Five candidates for each Diploma will be short listed for an interview by the Scholarship Panel. The interview will be used to further ascertain the candidate’s suitability to the industry and to the College in general.


The Scholarships are for study at the Queenstown campus only. Make sure to read and understand the Terms and Conditions of the Scholarships as detailed in the QRC 2030 National Scholarship Application Form available in June 2019.

Conditions of acceptance

The successful recipient of the Queenstown Resort College National Scholarship for the Diploma of Hospitality and the Diploma of Adventure Tourism must sign and accept the contract agreements and obligations of this scholarship. Any withdrawal from the programme prior to completion will require the financial commitment which QRC has invested for the student to be re paid by the student. Dismissal from the programme due to the recipient's non attendance, under performance and course failure will also result in the financial obligation being re paid.
