With a recent awards season having taken place, throughout the edition we feature some of the sports programmes, facilities and administrators that have proven to be leading lights in 2013. Looking into the future – the New Zealand sports and recreation workforce is expected to add an extra 10,000 jobs by 2026, according to new research in the Organisational Capability section. With volunteers recognised as one of the workforce challenges, we look at the volunteer legacy of the 2011 Rugby World Cup in Community Sport and Recreation.
