Sport season transition guidelines

National guidelines to help inform the 2021 winter to summer season transition.

COVID-19 has again put a temporary halt to sport impacting the end of the winter and start of the summer season. Sport NZ, in conjunction with our partners, has developed national guidelines to help manage scheduling challenges for both winter and summer codes.

Season overlaps will impact secondary schools, local authorities grappling with grounds allocations, and also participants. By working together, the sport sector can successfully restructure season dates to keep the welfare and best interests of the participant in mind.
