Play.sport baseline evaluation

28 June 2017

Sport NZ has published an independent baseline evaluation of the first year of Play.sport.

Supported by the Ministry of Education and ACC, Play.sport is helping to create quality and engaging PE experiences in our schools that encourage a lifelong love of sport and physical activity, which contributes to the overall wellbeing of our Kiwi kids.

Play.sport in action

Using the Play.sport approach, this Fergusson Intermediate PE lesson on long jump combines the maximum amount of physical activity while connecting children’s learning to other areas such as the maths curriculum.

Through Play.sport Fergusson Intermediate has partnered with Kokiri Marae to introduce Ki-o-Rahi as an extra-curricular (voluntary) activity during lunchtime, or before or after school.
