Originally from Bristol in the UK, Jim moved to Aotearoa in 2004 and has always been based in Wellington. 

He joined Sport New Zealand in September 2014 where he held the role of Manager, Expertise and Capability until taking on the new role of Group Manager Play, Active Recreation and Sport in June 2022. 

Jim has a wealth of experience with previous sport administration roles including as Executive Director at University Sport New Zealand, a range of other university and tertiary sport roles in the UK and more recently 7 years as CEO of Equestrian Sports NZ. 

Growing up in Bristol has left Jim with a lifelong passion for his hometown teams: Bristol Rovers, Bristol Bears and Gloucestershire County Cricket Club.
