Julian joined Sport NZ in September 2016 having been a senior manager in the sport and recreation sector for over 25 years, with experience in facility management, planning and development. With experience in both the UK, and New Zealand, he has worked for not-for profits, commercial operators, and local government. During his time at Sport NZ, Julian has led the Spaces & Places team with a national focus, providing advice and support across a range of planning and development initiatives for community sport and recreation facilities.

A self-confessed ‘jack of all sports’ Julian continues to participate in active recreation whenever the opportunity arises, particularly if it means getting outside and enjoying the wonderful environment we have in Aotearoa.
