Policies and procedures

As part of Sport NZ’s commitment to safeguarding all those involved in the play, active recreation and sport, we’ve developed policies and procedures for organisations. They’re intended to build on the work you already have in place, or to help you begin your child safeguarding and member protection journey.

The policies and procedures cover many integrity areas, such as child safeguarding, information sharing, privacy, code of conduct, and safer recruitment. Download and customise documents to suit your organisation’s needs. You can use them to update your existing policies or to establish new ones. They’re written and designed with clear and straight forward information, and to be easy to use.

Member protection

Member protection is important for any club or organisation. It allows members to take part in activities, free from harassment, discrimination, abuse and other harmful behaviours. Organisations should have a member protection policy in place and inform members and the community how it promotes positive behaviour and values. Learn more about identifying discrimination, harassment and bullying, and dealing with concerns and complaints. These policies will help you manage other member-related situations, such as conflicts of interest, use of digital media, and player selection processes.
