Sport New Zealand 2020-2032 strategic direction

Sport NZ ‘s vision is simple - to get Every Body Active in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Our role as a kaitiaki of the play, active recreation and sport system focusses on lifting the physical activity levels of all those living within Aotearoa New Zealand. In doing this, we believe we will have the greatest possible impact on wellbeing.

The position we hold within the system is a privileged one and we recognise that no one else can lead national change like we can. Given this, we have been disciplined in defining our leadership priorities through to 2032 on areas that we believe will have the greatest positive impact: direction setting, insights, advocacy, collaboration and investment.

We are also proud to highlight within Towards 2032, our commitment to upholding the mana of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the principles of Partnership, Protection and Participation.

Our Outcomes Framework is a central component of Sport NZ’s 2020-2032 Strategic Direction. It will enable us (and others) to better demonstrate impact and show alignment to the Government’s Living Standards Framework.

Find out how we will fulfil our leadership role over the next 12 years including where we operate, our long term goals and five leadership priorities.
