HR policies and supporting handbooks that cover health and safety, recruitment, induction, remuneration, performance management and other core HR areas.
These template policies and handbooks are provided by Sport NZ for use and adaptation by Sports and Recreation sector organisations to fit their particular circumstances and organisational needs. When using and implementing any of the policies, organisations should take care in ensuring the policy is required; reflective of that organisation’s needs, circumstances and values; a fit with the culture of the organisation and is complete and accurate.
It is important to note that these policies specifically apply to employees and the employment relationship. Because HR policies are regarded as ‘operational policies’ they are able to be signed off at the Chief Executive level although organisations may also want/need to get Board approval. Good practice is to consult with employees regarding the policies (as drafts) before finalising and communicating them to employees.
