New resource hub: DEI in the sector workforce

24 February 2025

Sport NZ has released new resources to support the sector to build a more capable and inclusive workforce.

Following the 2024 Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Sector Workforce survey, which highlighted a need for more sector support in specific areas, a new resource hub has been created on the Sport NZ website. The hub features:

  • key findings from the 2024 survey, providing insights into the experiences of women, Māori, rainbow communities, disabled people, and younger people in the sector
  • a range of resources to strengthen cultural capability, improve HR processes, address pay equity, and develop inclusive practices
  • online training opportunities across a variety of topics relating to diversity, equity and inclusion.

These resources aim to create positive experiences and better outcomes for everyone working in our sector. Reporting on the results of this survey and supporting organisations to build diversity, equity and inclusion capability are key parts of Strategic Priority 1 in Sport NZ’s Strategy
