These sessions share emerging research, innovative approaches and practical insights to support the sector in promoting physical activity and wellbeing.   • The potential of sport within the justice system (2025)

    Explore how sport can drive positive change for individuals and communities impacted by the justice system.

    Listen as expert speakers highlight innovative interventions and evidence that show the potential of sport to prevent young people from entering the justice system, promote wellbeing within prisons and reduce the likelihood of reoffending.

     

     

     

  • The case for promoting a physically active society (2025)

    Explore how investing in physical activity can deliver wide ranging benefits for communities, including positive impacts on wellbeing, the economy, education and the environment.

    Hear from international experts as they share emerging research and innovative approaches to measure the impact of physical activity, including findings from a Social Return on Investment study focused on recreational physical activity in Aotearoa New Zealand.

     

     

  • Physical activity and mental health (2025)

    Explore how physical activity can support the mental health of young people in both community and clinical settings.

    Professor Stewart Vella shares insights and guidelines from Australia, including how mental health can be embedded in community sport and physical activity promotion initiatives.

    Dr Matthew Jenkins presents New Zealand-based approaches, focusing on co-design and lived experience when developing physical activity programmes with youth experiencing mental illness
