The 4 priorities are:

1. Enhance global connections and reputation

Sport helps us build meaningful relationships with other countries. It’s a way to grow our international networks, share ideas and promote important values like gender equality, disability equity and human rights.

2. Help grow New Zealand’s economy
Sport diplomacy helps boost trade, attract investment and grow tourism. It connects New Zealand businesses with global markets and creates new opportunities that support economic growth.

3. Strengthen the Pacific through sport
Sport plays a powerful role in Pacific communities. Through sport diplomacy, we’re supporting youth development, building leadership and helping Pacific nations grow their sport systems – especially for rangatahi, women and girls, disabled people and other underrepresented groups.

4. Tell New Zealand’s story
Sport is a powerful way to show who we are. Through international events and activities, we’re sharing New Zealand’s culture, values and identity – helping the world understand what makes us unique.
