Mark Stewart is well-known in business having held a significant number of roles including Chairman of Seadragon Limited, Director at Acurity Health Group Ltd and Chairman of Foodcap International Ltd.

In 2018 he was awarded the Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit - MNZM - for service to the Community and Sport and received the Sir Richard Hadlee Sports Trust - Most Outstanding Voluntary Administrator of the Year - in 2010. Other accolades have included the Sport Canterbury Outstanding Service Award in 2010, Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Management in 2001 and the New Zealand Rugby League Outstanding Service Award in 2000.

Past community roles have included: Board member, Canterbury Manufacturers Association;  President, Export New Zealand; Business Mentor, Lion Foundation Young Enterprise Scheme; Chairman, Mainland Football Federation; Business Mentor, University of Canterbury; Independent Board Member, Local Organising Committee for FIFA under 20 World Cup; Independent Trustee, Antarctic Heritage Trust;  Chairman, New Zealand Football Foundation.
