Kia ora tātou,
As the year wraps up, I’d like to thank you for everything you’ve done to help people across Aotearoa get active.
We’re seeing some great progress in our research, especially when it comes to tamariki and rangatahi getting involved. Our collective work across programmes like Active As and Healthy Active Learning are making a real difference by giving young people more chances to move in ways that suit them. You can check out the Healthy Active Learning evaluation in this update.
Last week’s International Day of Disabled People was a reminder of why inclusion is important. I loved hearing Paralympian Holly Robinson share how sport gave her a place to belong and the difference it has made in her life – you can watch her Balance is Better story in this video.
It has been a big year, as is normal for us all. I hope you find time to relax, recharge and enjoy time with friends and whānau over the summer break, and take a moment to feel proud of the work that we do and the positive contribution we make to Aotearoa.
Mānawatia a Hineraumati
Wishing you a happy and restful summer
Nā, Raelene
