Review of the Incorporated Societies Act, Sir John Wells on sports governance and a little humour.

REVIEW OF THE INCORPORATED SOCIETIES ACT

The Law Commission reported back to the Minister in August with a range of recommendations. If these proposals are ultimately adopted into law, it will require all incorporated societies to review their constitutions and, for some, to make significant changes.

Given we are in election year any change could be some time off and further submissions are of course possible at select committee stage. However for those of you contemplating constitution change, keeping ahead of the game would be a sensible step. Commentaries on likely impact from HayesKnight and MariaClarkeLawyers (PDF).
