Sport NZ is engaging Eftsure Pty Limited to verify the payment details of our suppliers before payments are made. The purpose of the verification procedure is to minimise the risk of errors or fraud in paying suppliers and speed up payment times.

All suppliers to the Sport NZ Group are required to provide business information to Eftsure for independent verification before receiving payment.

Eftsure verifies all supplier details ensuring that supplier payments are protected against fraud and error. Once a supplier has been verified, it is an easy and seamless process.

Eftsure’s verification processes include a phone call to new suppliers to ensure the accuracy and legitimacy of payment details.

The business information required for verification includes:

  • Bank details
  • NZBN
  • Trading name
  • GST registration
  • Company contact information.

 

Supplier onboarding and data management

Sport NZ has introduced a new system for the set-up and management of supplier data.

This robust system is provided by Eftsure. Eftsure is recognised for protecting supplier payments against fraud and error by validating NZBN, GST registration status and bank account details to ensure payments are made to the intended recipient.

As of 14 October 2024, every supplier conducting business with Sport NZ will need to provide business information through the Eftsure portal.

What is Eftsure?

Eftsure is an independent, real-time, continuous controls monitoring system designed to manage supplier onboarding and data management.

Supplier data provided during onboarding is verified by Eftsure to ensure that only legitimate information is entered into our finance system.

How secure is Eftsure?

Supplier data is stored in Eftsure servers, which are physically located in Australia, including back up servers. You may already be using Eftsure with other vendors. They presently work with many clients across Australia and in New Zealand.

How can I tell whether this is a scam or not?

When you follow the instructions to verify your details on Eftsure’s website, you will see your bank account details are partly populated, which identifies you and names Sport NZ/ High Performance Sport NZ, which confirms the legitimacy of the email. If you still have concerns, please call Sport NZ and ask about Eftsure.

Eftsure guidance for existing suppliers

You can update your details at any time by contacting finance@sportnz.org.nz and asking them to send you an 'Eftsure change request'.

It's your responsibility to ensure your details are up to date. Please notify us immediately if your details change, or if you notice any discrepancies.

Eftsure guidance for new suppliers

As part of the onboarding process, you will be asked by your contact at Sport NZ to supply your company name, and email address.

You will then receive an email invitation from Eftsure asking you to register your details as a new supplier, including your:

  • NZBN
  • company name
  • address
  • email
  • bank account details.

After you have registered your details, you may receive a call from an Eftsure team member (usually within 24-48 hours) to verify that the details are correct.

You will receive a confirmation email from Eftsure when your data has been verified.

How to change your data with Eftsure

It is your responsibility to ensure your details are up to date. Please notify us immediately if your details change, or if you notice any discrepancies. To update your details, contact finance@sportnz.org.nz and ask them to send you an 'Eftsure change request'.

You will then receive an email from Eftsure with a link to update your data in their portal, and then a confirmation email once your data has been verified.

Depending on the data to be updated, you may receive a phone call from an Eftsure team member to verify your details over the phone before you receive a confirmation email.
