Greenslade Reserve

Combining sports field development, flood mitigation and environmental outcomes involving mana whenua and local stakeholders.

Greenslade Reserve demonstrates how sports field development can deliver multiple community benefits. Developed through a partnership involving Auckland Council, Northcote Development (Kāinga Ora), mana whenua and local stakeholders, the project transformed a poorly drained field into a flood-resilient sports and recreation space. By combining sports field upgrades with stormwater management, ecological restoration and flood mitigation, the reserve now improves playing capacity while helping protect the surrounding community during major weather events.
