Research with rangatahi resource

Research with rangatahi resource

This resource supports a youth voice approach to research, helping you meaningfully include rangatahi in your work.

Youth voice means young people can share their views on things that affect their lives – and have genuine opportunities to influence decisions.

When we include rangatahi voices and engage with them authentically, the outcomes are better for everyone.

This resource helps you:

  • clarify your purpose and goals
  • use the Mana Taiohi framework
  • choose appropriate research methods
  • find and engage young people
  • create safe, uplifting spaces
  • consider ethics and consent
  • share the findings.

From focus groups to post-it note races and snowball fights, explore a range of creative research methods, including what they are, when to use them and how to apply them.
