2020 - 2021 Strategic priorities

COVID-19 has changed our world and placed immense stress on the play, active recreation and sport sector. Sport NZ responded to the pandemic by developing a single-year plan to support the sector in resetting, rebuilding and growing stronger for the future.
Sport NZ’s 2020-2021 Strategic Priorities document builds from the previously-published 2020-2024 Strategic Plan. It outlines the new context created by the pandemic in Aotearoa New Zealand and acknowledges Sport NZ’s new investment responsibilities related to Government’s $265m Recovery Package.
Sport NZ is defining an investment approach to ensure all Sport NZ investment including the $264.6m Recovery Package is well spent. We will also continue to implement critically important programmes including:
