“Ko ngā pae tawhiti, whāia kia tata. Ko ngā pae tata whakamaua kia tina.

The potential for tomorrow depends on what we do today”.

Te Pākē o Ihi Aotearoa and Te Aho a Ihi Aotearoa, our Māori Outcomes Framework and Māori Activation Plan, reflect Sport NZ’s intermediate and long-term outcomes contributing to Māori wellbeing.

The COVID-19 Kaupapa Māori Response Plan provides a direct mechanism for Sport NZ Ihi Aotearoa to explore new relationships with Māori as well as the strengthening of current partnerships and seeks to improve Māori wellbeing through Te Ao Māori and Mātauranga Māori approaches.

COVID-19 Kaupapa Māori Response Plan

COVID-19 has proved challenging for the play, active recreation and sport sector and heightened the existence of inequities for Māori within our system.

To help address this, Sport New Zealand Ihi Aotearoa has created a COVID-19 Kaupapa Māori Response Plan as part of our $265m COVID-19 recovery investment programme.
